NAMI St. Tammany relies heavily on the gifts and talents of its volunteers. There are many opportunities throughout our organization, and throughout the year, to give of your time.

The following list is not exhaustive. You may have a talent or skill that could help us in a unique way. Here are some current ways you can help:

Fundraisers– These events occur throughout the year with “day of the event” and “behind the scenes” opportunities.

Community Education– NAMI St. Tammany strives to provide these events throughout the year to promote understanding and awareness of the issues families and their loved ones face when dealing with mental illness.

Administrative/Clerical– Assists NAMI St. Tammany with administrative tasks include typing, filing and administrative support.

Facilitator/Educator– You may be eligible to become trained to facilitate an education class, or a support group. In addition, you may be eligible to be trained in other NAMI Signature programs aimed at advocacy, or sharing your story.

NAMI’S Closet– The Closet is actually several rooms filled with clean clothes, shoes, toiletries and household items. While NAMI’S Closet typically caters to individuals with behavioral health issues, any individual in need is welcome to visit. Opportunities here include sorting and organizing items, housekeeping/decorating/gardening, or assisting with pickups.
